Why I Teach

I grew up in a household of readers. It was in this environment that I learned about the worlds outside of our own and the value of experiencing those. Thanks to experiences like this, along with a family of teachers, I was stirred to become a teacher. Those different worlds were what I wanted to share with my students. I am passionate when discussing literature.

I was also lucky enough to grow up in smaller communities where student and teacher relationships were vital in the school environment. There were many teachers who inspired me because they took the time to not only get to know me as a student, but as a person outside of the classroom.

It was because of experiences like these that I knew I wanted to become an English teacher. Since then, I've earned my Masters and Bachelors Degrees, certifications, and I’ve had extensive experience teaching.
